They use to say that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but you know what can make it even more magical? A shooting for romantic engagement photos during your holiday in a charming city like Florence. This is how Andrew decided that Claudia and he would celebrate their love in the sweetest time of winter.

Claudia and Andrew’s romantic engagement photos
Half Italian and half Australian, this lovely couple crossed the ocean and came to Florence to spend the winter holidays with Claudia’s family. The biggest present she received for Christmas was no little less than a marriage proposal by Andrew, followed by romantic engagement photos taken all around the iconic spots of the city.
He specifically asked me for spontaneous and dreamy photographs, filled with love and set among the architectural masterpieces of Florence. He was sure Claudia would love the idea of a photo shooting in her home-country, which also happens to be one of the couple’s favorite places on Earth… and in fact she did.
The charm of Florence in winter
Even though it was winter, due to the Christmas holidays Florence was crowded with tourists, and the day we picked for these romantic engagement photos – December 23rd – was no exception.
This is one of the reasons why our session started in San Miniato al Monte: besides offering a breathtaking view of the city and many different backgrounds to play with, it’s usually less busy than other spots. It’s no surprise that it turned out to be perfect to break the ice with Claudia and Andrew, who then could feel free to express their love to one another with hugs, kisses and heartfelt smiles.
We didn’t stop there, though: we took even more romantic engagement photos in the heart of Florence, whose atmosphere is even more fascinating in winter. The Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and the surroundings of Palazzo Gondi, adorned with ancient wooden doors – that I adore and that gave a touch of warmth to the soft colors of that winter day.
